hahaha! yeah, Larry, it's been a year this month since i christened the Woodshed. right now it's in total chaos! i'll try to post some before-and-after pix tomorrow. in the meantime, i've gotten some tracks down in GarageBand and am struggling mightily to get an antiquated ProTools system up and running.
but remember, it seems like a lot of TDPRI mini-studios were popping up about that time. how about some updates from you guys who've made progress in the past year? there was a huge thread (at least huge for the Recording in Progress forum), but it died out and i always wondered how everybody was doing.

Larry -- finally got the Woodshed into some type of order, at least enough to take some pix. as you can see, it's a bit of a chaotic rat's nest! but at least i've got it tooled up to do sketches in GB and more involved projects in PT.
the components are: Alesis Firewire mixer/interface, two Mac G4s, DigiDesign 001 interface for PT, external Firewire HD, POD, Dr. Rhythm drum machine, two Fender amps, two home-built guitars, a short-scale Bronco bass and a cheapie Yamaha keyboard. three sets of monitors: the big Yorkvilles, small JBLs (atop the hutch), and the stock Apple softball-size speakers. it's a small room, sort of like working in a shrimp boat cabin, but i've got enough primitive acoustic treatment to keep it from being a sonic nightmare -- the area around the console and parts of the back wall are covered with cork, and i put strategic dead spots along the walls. it's certainly far from state of the art, mostly improvised from what i had on hand (think Gyro Gearloose), but i've been surprisingly happy with the results i've gotten in my rookie year of digital recording!

I just read that thread last night and also your thread on your construction and was hoping for an update as well. I trust the lava lamp is back in working order. Looks good Woody!
Maybe I will take some pics of my pathetic little workspace and revive that old thread. Dan

The quality goes in before the name goes on
the job's not done until you get yer shingle on the door!
my bassman's nephew made this on a CNC machine from some sort of high-grade plastic.
