GarageBand/iTunes cutting off first note(s) of song ... ???
after a year of Garagebanding, i've gotten real comfortable with it and learned to work within the limitations of the software and my slightly underpowered system. however, there's one annoyance that has me mystified.
after i mix down and send the song to iTunes, the resulting song file has the first beat or two chopped off. so i've started adding a blank bar prior to the intro of the song. it's not a huge deal, just a nuisance, but wondered if any of you old GB hands might be able to tell me why this is happening?

Hey Woodman. Have you checked you Render settings? I don't use Garageband. I use Reaper so I don't know how similar they are but I have had that same problem while rendering only to find out it was the info I had inputed. The start and stop time. I do stupid stuff like that all the time because the rendering software saves the last settings.

i'll poke around and see what i can find. all that is done under the Share menu in GB, and i thought i'd been over it with a fine-tooth comb, but i may still be missing something.

I see the same thing too using Cubase and Sonar when bouncing anything that has midi in it to audio. These two programs takes a few milliseconds to calculate the latency compensation. If the midi note on event is set at 1:01:000 measures that equals 0 in a real time. Any midi note on event between 0 and the time it takes to solve for latency compensation will not be heard. General rule of thumb for these programs is to start a song at 2 measures in.
