CD burning software?

I have Windows XP. 2 key features I'd like are ability to specify how much time I want between tracks and the ability to control burn speed (I typically only use 1x or 2x). Not sure if there are other features I'd look for. Price is not that important. I see a lot of people use one of the Roxio packages, not sure how they stack up vs. other options.

I'm on a Mac and have used versions of Toast for years. I consider it one of the essential programs for my studio. I highly recommend Toast because it does many things well for relatively low cost.

I have Nero 6.3 and I can set both gap and burn speed as you mention. And for PC, too!

+1 for Nero...it is by far the best burning software to date...unless you are looking for JUST an audio burning software...then I am not sure.

Try CDBurnerXP. The newest version is 4.0.024.439. But, I'm using CDBurnerXP Pro 3 Version 3.0.116. I'm using Windows Xp and the 3.0.116 seems to be faster than the newer version and I think more flexible. It's free.

I use Nero and Roxio, both work quite well for me.

for my CD mastering, I import all the finished wavs into ACID on a single timeline. I have realtime control over space between tracks and/or crossfades. I can also tweak overall volume levels of individual tracks, specify track numbers and when I'm happy with the whole program, I hit the Burn At Once button. But I recommend you do as much mixing in your DAW as you can before you master.

On a Mac: Toast.

Good ol' Windows Media Player works fine for me...

Since I switched from Windows to Mac, my choices are fewer but better.

General purpose burn anything: Toast
Audio: iTunes
Advanced audio: Amadeus Pro

I am surprised at how often iTunes is useful for audio burns. Great control, great gapless management, simple as could be.

The built-in burning functionality of OS X is excellent and is tapped by many applications as well.

i too am a roxio user... it works wll at least i am satisfied. give it a shot.
