Gorgeous, wish it wasn't so much $$$

This thing is beautiful. I've never seen this color on an SG before. I wish I had the dough and that it wasn't priced so high. Reverb.com has sucked me in!

Boy, that's beautiful. I'd never seen Reverb.com before. Looks like a great idea. The guitars I looked at were all priced at pie-in-the-sky levels, though.

That's a beauty alright! They are fabulous guitars (although I have to say that I never learned to love the Vibrola on my old SG Standard).

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the vibe either. I wish this was a standard color, it's awesome! I think that SGs are odd in how they take "traditional" guitar colors; they don't always look that good. Something about the shape needs a special paint job.

That is a peachy looking guitar. I like the finish.
The binding is weird.
Really looks killer.

I delete the Reverb Emails as fast as I can, but sometimes I'm not fast enough and get sucked in and spend way to long drooling over stuff I can't possibly afford like that SG there .... it's a house of pain.

Not my cup of tea, but I can see why this would appeal to some people.

For me personally, a Gibson SG has to be either solid RED or CREAM.

There were quite a few 1962 Les Pauls with this color scheme. I like it much more than red. Red is unlucky.

I had a Melody Maker II in this color scheme. Wish I still had it:

That's a good looking SG. Sometimes I find myself drawn to SGs but then I can just never seem to get on with them. I was really tempted on a white SG Standard today at GC. Marked down to $849. They also had an Angus Young model for $1299 which is the same as the regular price on the Standard. Almost made me wish I was an SG player.

IIRC, some vintage SG's get that colour tint when they start to fade. It can look very nice.

So now that Les Paul is dead Gibson decides to reissue the guitar that Les wanted his name off of in the early sixties. Geez

Is it me or is that vibrola plate not scratched and tarnished?

If this is a 2011 model, how come it was made in 2012?

Why do they feel it necessary to tell us, "The pickups work ..."?

It has been played but is being sold as "new old stock" even though it is only a year old. Is it new or second hand? If it is new but unsold, why has it not sold?

Pretty but there's something a bit fish & Denmark going on here, it niggles me.

If you're being picky is there a chip on the waist north of the bridge pickup?

Yes, I am being picky because this is being sold as new in top condition at a very high price. Some of the description doesn't add up.

I gave the waist mark the benefit of the doubt because it may be a reflection.
Something other than fish pong going on here?
I smell older transplant organs into pretty but cheaper model?

Is the pickguard supposed to overhang just south of the waist there, I thought they carefully followed the body contour?
It has a bound fretboard but I cannot fully see the fret ends, yet it doesn't look like the usual funky Gibson top-model fret binding.

Both of the perceived imperfections are reflections in the mirror like surface .

The pickguard is actually vintage correct.

The BINDING is weird, and I have never seen anything like it.

Ok, I hadn't looked at this guitar as anything other than "Oooh, pretty...", but interesting comments. What's wrong with the binding? I'm not seeing the problem. In fact, I don't see a pic where I can really even see the binding.

Here's the same model from Sweetwater.
