Old Guitar Announcement! (Teisco content)
Okay this isn't a NGD post, but it is a new guitar development for me
It is a Teisco model and he bought it used in 1974. I couldn't get the action low enough to play comfortably, and when I got strings on it I noticed one of the pickups didn't work. So it sat around for a while while I got up the gumption to have a go at it. Today I said to hell with it, raised the action as high as I could, tuned it to 5-string open G and now it is my slide guitar. Plugged it straight into my Pro Junior, turned it up to 10 and knocked out some gnasty delta blues. Best part is, I noticed the pickup selector switch for the pickup that doesn't work was scratchy, so I knocked the hell out of it for a while and got all the dust and gunk out and now it works! So now I have a fully functional and dirty sounding cool old vintage piece! Yay!

I've got a fondness for those old Teiscos. The action can sometimes be improved by shimming the neck a bit. Here are a couple of craigslist guitars that I've recently picked up and am getting back into playing condition:
