Telecaster... Or Pedal Steel? What's he using?
Do you think he's using a telecaster to get that sound? Or a pedal steel?
If he's using a telecaster-- how does he get it to sound so deliciously whiney? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctAbZtG7xSc P.S. Why doesn't the Youtube button work, on this forum? |

Copy the part of the URL after the "=" sign and place it between the YOUTUBE brackets. The credits on the album do not list any pedal steel. Sounds like just a slide. That's Luther Dickinson on guitar. I have seen John play with that band lineup but can't remember what kind of guitar Luther was playing--pretty sure it was not a Tele though. |

It's definitely not pedal steel....my guess is regular old slide guitar... not even a dobro type guitar... Sounded kinda soft and thick, I'm thinking a semi hollow body or something along those lines... Gibson would be a good bet.
