PRS SE One????????
I have the chance to trade an amp of mine for one of these PRS SE ONE guitars.... I've never played this model,But i've played several PRS guitars...from SE Models to Usa Custom 22's and 24's. I've always been impressed with their stuff. My question is what does anybody think of this exact model? I'm sure it plays just as good as other SE Models ..but what about sounds,as it only has one vol. one P90 pup... My first mod would be to change the volume pot out for a dual concentric for vol/tone. Anybody like the stock pup? Would it take a filtertron? :P and what about a bigsby..? all opinions welcomed.
thanks

I have one. It has one of the best sounding P90s pickups I've ever heard, and I wouldn't change anything on it. Sounds real nice clean, and just SNARLS if you add a little dirt.

I love the single cut PRS One with the single P90.
I have a US Custom 24 that I can't seem to bond with. It's a very well made guitar and all that but maybe too modern sounding. Thinking to sell it and look for a 56 strat. |

They are great guitars for the money.I had one for a couple of years and sold it when I got my USA PRS single cut . I wish I had kept it now as it was a very different (and fun) guitar.

Thanks guys! I think I'm gonna take the leap. I will be trading a vintage 1959 Gibson Ga-5 Skylark amp for it. good deal?

You won't be disappointed. I've got an SE One, and it is a badass little guitar.
Once you get it an play it, you may even change your mind about modding it. It's a devilishly simple and effective setup. - D |

Its the lack of a tone knob that bothers me. I always use my tone knob for my sounds. I use it alot,I roll it back to zero for my rhythm. When I play my esquire in the straight wide open position I had it unless its for chicken picken.

I met up with the guy tonight, did the swap. I couldn't tell much about it cause it was so dark, but it sounded fine, and the neck was killer feelin'. When I got it home and took it apart..the neck has no name on it,and no brand name at the heel...it also has a wierd contour cut into the neck heel from the 15th fret to the heel to make it fit the pocket. I don't know whats up with it. The body is a cheap squier, the electronics are cheap as ****,but the pickups sound good! ..he said they were mim. I'm kinda disapointed. I should have waited and went with the PRS. .......oh and when I was taking the neck off,the screw driver slipped and put a dent in the body right behind the neck plate. I cried. ........................Pics up tomorrow..

I got the guy to trade back with me. By far the most honest guy I've met on craigslist.
I think I am gonna go for the PRS now. *Phew*
