Sold my Lester...

She's off to her new home in Florida. Feels very weird as honestly this guitar is a really great one but right now I could do with the money tied up in it - and I play my other guitars WAY more. I don't know why - it's an amazing guitar, maybe the most perfect guitar I'll ever own, but I just naturally gravitate to playing my Tele's and my 335 so much more.

So, it's bye bye pretty Les Paul...

I don't hang with either professional musicians or folks in occupations who can afford to have $3000 to $5000 of their own money (that they earned) tied up in such an instrument.

Also the burst is lop-sided/top heavy on that LP.

Needed more sprayed on the ass-end.

Easy come easy go.

There's another something right around the corner (and there always is...)

Your kidding!?

If it just plays half as nice as it looks it would be my one and only electric guitar!

Beautiful Guitar. I don't agree with Mike Eskimo about the burst necessarily, but I do agree with him about the 'around the corner'. Take things as they come. Right now you had to let someone else experience this wonderful guitar. Good on you! (How's that for putting a positive spin on it?) It's not like you're without another great guitar.

I fall in with the beautiful guitar crowd.

I'm sort on the fence right now about selling my Lester. I'm one of those people who thinks, Hey, I'd like a Les Paul" and then I get it and realize why I play Teles.

It's a an unusual burst pattern, but it looks pretty cool I think.

Looks very pretty to me. I have never bonded with a Les Paul. The only time I use mine is when I need a 7 string guitar, but, other than that it is either my Cort 335, my Tele or Squier 51.

Of course he will, but that's not the point. We do what we have to do, and the journey of a musician is filled with highs and lows.

Now he is on track for the next high. We can't have or keep everything.

I kind of thought Mike was saying that to cheer him up, not that he necessarily believed it. Of course when Mike's brother, Quinn, gets here, everyone will feel better!

Nah - I like a much more symmetrical burst (Heck I'd love to see a real dark shaded one like an old Gibson L00 from the 30's ) but - I applaud BBB's choice of a plain top.

I loooooove plain top Les Pauls.

I played a real 1960 LP that old Randy Volin had in his shop about 10 yrs ago and he hated it because it was a plain top. Had all the cherry still on it, completely un-faded and he couldn't even look at it.

He's one of those flamey dudes...

I'm pretty burnt on most bursts but I like this one a lot, pretty much for all the same reasons the Eskimo doesn't.
