NGD! I was just lookin' around....

I went to my favorite pawn shop/music store today. I have been wondering about trading my Squier Standard Telecaster that I've had for a couple of years. I recently got a MIM Standard and I prefer it to the Squier. Anyway, I took the tele with me and found a Hamer slammer series, which is Korean made from the 90's from what I can find. I made the deal and walked out with the Hamer. It is cherry sunburst with chrome humbuckers and schaller tuners.
It has a good neck and sounds very chunky and full. I've really been wanting a humbucker guitar, since I've got the single coil sound covered with my tele and strat.

It appears as though they are for coil splitting, but I need to play around with it a little bit more. I really like the guitar a lot.

Just to update a little. I got the chance to open up the control panel and see what's up with the Hamer. The switches are not actually connected to anything at the moment, but the good news is that upon further inspection, the pickups are Seymour Duncans. Jazz in the neck position and 59 in the bridge. I now know why it sounded so good at the store. I love my Telecaster, but I can't put this Hamer down!

We have one of those in the shop I work at and I was really surprised in how well it played. Nice find!

Are you sure it's a Slammer? My Slammer bass says Slammer by Hamer on the headstock. Yours just says Hamer.

I've been in bands with 2 separate people who've used that model, they are nice guitars.

Apparently there are Hamer Slammer Series (which is what I have) and there are Slammer by Hamer-which are made in indonesia. I love this guitar. It is really great for classic humbucker type sounds.

That's a good looking guitar. I always loved the double cutaway and three in a row knobs. Looks new. Congratulations!

Those first couple years of the Slammers were pretty close build-wise to USA Hamers, the only real problem is the pots and switch. They're decent, but they do wear out.

Sounds like yours has all the upgrades out of the way, now just play it.
