I have the Vox cable and love it, never had any problems. I especially like it because when I'm done playing and lean my guitar against the amp the cable coils up very neatly next to the guitar. No cable mess.

I'd imagine any higher quality coil cords would work as fine as they did in the '70s. For ease of packing up they're great. However the coiling prematurely wears on the connections and they often go dead early. They also lose some high end. YMMV, but I doubt it.

I'd say none but only because they are so dang heavy. I'd rather get a long enough straight cable and let the floor hold it up. I have a few of them, too - a Vox, a couple no-names and a Fender California. The idea of all of them is cool but when you go to actually play with them you can feel them pulling you back.

I've got the fender one, it's fine so far. No noticeable sound difference in live use. It's good it you stand on your lead as it won't pull on the jack.

ive got a white bullet coily cable. I like it, and use it alot. I bought one based on the looks, i have a lot of vintage gear and i wanted a cable that fit in.
there not made anything like the ones from the 70's. Most of the ones from the 70's were like a telephone chord and sounded terrible. The new ones are much better, way thicker and better quality. My bullet cable sounds great and ive never had any problems with it. |
