Today is my last day...without a Mustang

Tomorrow I'm picking up my first Mustang, a '65RI in Oly White with the red tort pickguard.

I can't wait to lose my 'Stang virginity to this thing:

The seller didn't say whether it includes the all-important tremolo arm, so I made a prediction on http://ipredikt.com that it *will* include one. What do you think?

Well, the first thing I play will be a 12-bar blues shuffle in Em-7, Am-7, Bm-7. Then I'll switch into Drop-D and play Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box".

Haha wow, I'd do the Hert Shaped Box thing too! that was the song that inspired me to pick up guitar.

Here's my other shotscale, also in Oly White with the red tort pickguard. But I have a feeling I'm going to bond more with this Mustang.

I love little guitars. I have an old Jazz Bass which is like strapping on a house. I'm physically big enough to handle it, but...I don't wanna HAVE to handle it. My Tele is nice and light, and so is my Steinberger. Really like the Mustangs...right now, I like the Pawn Shop Mustang in blue.

Congrats on your new Mustang. Love that Oly white with red tort PG...

Here's a shot of mine...a '64, all original. Picked it up about 3 years ago. They sure are a lot fun to play and they're cool too! Surprisingly to me, they can cover a lot of territory sound-wise. Love me some Mustang.

Very nice !

That' s what my 65' looked like BEFORE it was refinished.

They're great guitars, you're going to have fun.

I'm voting that it will not include the trem arm. If it's not in the picture it's probably not in. Hope it comes with one though. Couldn't be hard to replace.

It's funny but I keep on reading that the trem is the one thing about the Mustang that people consider to be a failure, impossible to use and to keep in tune but then I see THIS guy...

And I think that it really isn't that bad after all.

I like the trem on my Mustang far more than the trem on the Strat I used to have.

Just like any other tremolo, works great if set up properly.

Check this page out.

On a side note. The history of Char and the Mustang is pretty interesting. I've seen him use strats too, but he certainly doesn't shy away from the mustang trem. It's too bad Japanese music rarely infiltrates Western (or at least American, I can't speak for the rest of the world) culture.

The Mustang guitar, and not the amp, OTG!

Congrats!
