Brand Of Gear You Probably Will Never Own

For whatever reason (too expensive, no interest, don't like them...) is there a major brand of guitars or amps that you will probably never own? And give your reasons.
(And, please, don't name a small brand. Keep this to the really big brands.)

Me?
I will probably never own a Gibson or a Marshall.
Don't like them. Don't fit what I play. Far too expensive.

I can't see myself owning a Gibson, although years ago I was given a 175 TDC or something to play for a couple of years. I just never really enjoyed Gibsons that much.

I would enjoy a Marshall tube amp.

Ditto.

Plus Gretsch or Rickenbacker. I like them both but it would be overkill. I believe in having a relatively small number of guitars. My wife would crack up at that statement, but seriously, I played pro for decades so I have guitars I just acquired over the years (old Les Paul, old Gibson ES-345, a pretty new Strat partscaster, and a recent custom-made Rutters Tele. Oh yah, and a handmade Beneteau acoustic. Compared to SOME of you guys, that is NOT a lot.

Probably PRS - although I've liked Santana and some other artists that use them, I just don't get the least bit excited about them. I guess I'm just more a traditionalist who prefers Single Coils. I do own a very nice LP but don't play it much at all. Have 17 other electrics that are Fenders, except 3 CV's and a couple of Tele clones. The only other exceptions are a couple of Gretsches - one with Filtertrons and the other with Dearmond 2000 SC's.

Other than the 3 brands I own now, I don't think there are any others that I'd be interested in.........at least in the foreseeable future.........

Maybe Martin. Years ago, I saved up and went out to buy a nice acoustic. Thought I'd get a Martin, but came home with a Guild. The Martins were just missing something.

Decades later, I've still only run across 1 or 2 Martins out of DOZENS I've tried that even remotely interest me. And at the price those go for, there are many other interesting options.

If I haven't already owned it, odds are I never will. I'm in the middle of my first scratch build, and I got 2 more in my head waiting to get out. Next year, amps!

I doubt I'll ever own a Rickenbacker, though if I ever win the lottery I'm buying a 370/12. Also, I can't see myself ever owning a Line 6.

Marshalls on the other hand... I LOVE Marshalls.

BC Rich guitars always found them to be hideous. I think they market to Larp'ers with those names too

Wow, lotta PRS hate. I can't wait to finally own my DGT. When that day gets here, I'll be a happy guy.

I'll probably never own anything like a Suhr, Tom Anderson, Grosh, etc. I know they are killer guitars, but they hold almost no interest for me. I play them, and think "wow, that's awesome". I look at them, and just think "meh, no character". I'm sure it's one of those things, I'm just too used to seeing other designs, but for whatever reason, they just don't do it for me looks wise.

I pretty much hate anything with any kind of flamed or otherwise figured wood, with very few exceptions. So I probably won't own much of that in my life.

I will probably never own another Fender amp. I mightm if they built something I liked the sound of, or if I had a ton of extra money laying around to just a flesh out a large collection with a couple of Fender amps. But I could probably write out a list of more than 100 amps I'd like to try or own, and not one of them a Fender. I just don't generally like them. Not my style. Give me a Marshall, a Vox, a Boogie, a Z, a Soldano, I'll take pretty much anything over a Fender.

I will probably never own a 1-10 watt amp. I undertsand why some people want to I guess, but for me, they are just useless.

I qualify all of this with "probably not" because I never like to say never. Really though, I can't see any of it happening.
