Looks like the People at Fender are listening, look at this!

The new 2012 VM series Jazz masters.

And Jaguars.

And Mustangs!

Looks like I'll be buying Squiers this year!

I might get one of the Mustangs at some point. Jags and JMs never did it for me, though they do look really nice.

One of my first guitars was a Mustang, back in the day.

Me, too. After a couple of cheapo electrics, my first 'good' guitar was a white Mustang. I got it and a small Fender amp for the princely sum of 35 bucks.

In this recession, the smart people at Fender know this will go big.

We are not talking about a guitar with highly figured maple tops, intricate abalone and mother of pearl inlays, or delicate vintage style x-bracing, so a slab of wood with a bolt-on neck could be made pretty well at a very affordable price. It's pretty much in line with Leo's original version. Well done, Fender!

So these are VMs? Usually there's a 'spin' on the original design in the VM series... but these look pretty faithful...

Great news!!

It only took 20 years for Fender to realize that there's a substantial market for more or less vintage correct offsets. Back in the days of My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur JR etc I would have bought one or two or three in an instant but there where none to be had. I'll probably buy one of these too based on the awesomeness of my Squire J Mascis Jazzmaster, Sonic Blue of course.

I will get a Jaguar first! In any color except white. If JM pups are as real JM pups inside, then next one is JM. In any color, except white. Pg from it would be nice for my 2 older Jazzmasters, though. In other case, Mustang will be second, yellow & tort. I get Jazzmaster later, probably in CAR color.

Those look very much like early to mid 60`s models for me too. I haven`t had time to begin nitpick yet, they look too great for it!

Hope you are not trolling. These 3 guitars have never had maple necks.

Yes, Squier Vintage Modified Series. US prices should come at 300-350, probably little less. In Europe, around 280 Euros.
