Just got my Epi Dot Royale back from L&M...

I got the guitar at Christmas and finally brought it in 2 weeks ago for it's free setup. I had previously played around with the setup myself but could never get the action low enough for my liking without excessive buzz. I decided to check the frets with a "fret rocker" and found a number of uneven frets at the upper end of the neck. So, I listed the issues and marked the high frets with a sharpie before I brought it in for the setup. I didn't know what they were going to do about the uneven frets since this is a $425 Chinese guitar and not a $3000 Gibson. Well, I picked it up yesterday and after examining the work order, I was happy to find out that Gibson/Epi gave Long and Mcquade the okay to level the frets under warranty. The cost of the fret leveling was almost 1/3 of the cost of the guitar!! The frets were highly polished, the action was great and the guitar now plays like a dream. Kudos to L&M and Yorkville (Gibson's Canadian Distributor) for making this customer happy with his purchase.

Good stuff. I've found that in general, despite it being the big box music store in Canada, there are almost always some good sales guys to be found that offer great customer service at L&M.
They've even gone as far as fixing an amp I bought from them under warranty, even though the warranty had expired about a month before I brought it in.

Nice to hear of a big box store that actually comes through for customers instead of being staffed by know-nothings.

If i didn't know the luthier at the local GC here i would too but he's good. Actually he took time to give me some help on doing my own setups when he worked at the little mom and pop shop a few years ago. Mom and pop shop closed down

Well, the sales guy wasn't sure if they would level the frets. He noted the high frets on the initial work order and said that hopefully Yorkville would come thru. He's one of the "good guys". Told me not to worry and I'd be happy with it once it's all done. He was right
