You guys seen the Epi Casino Dwight Yoakam sig?

It's the "Dwight Trash"

Looks kinda cool, Firebird headstock and Gretsch White Falconish trim.

It looks like a lot of the "White Falconish" models they've been coming out with recently...

at $2200 street price, i don't see them jumping off the shelf ... only 250 made with COA signed by Dwight... i bet they are really nice guitars (MIJ Elitist ) ... a lot of bucks for an Epiphone, when you could have a Gibson for the same money !!!

I didn't dig deep enough to see the price, but you're right, that's a lot for an Epi. I guess you'd really have to like Dwight!

Are these built by Terada? Possibly in the same factory that makes Gretsches?

I dig Dwight plenty but I think sig models are kinda cheesy. Just a corporate money grab, really.

Question is "Is it a Historic Series" MIJ made, if yes you need to rethink the cost/value IMO

  • MSRP:$3,665.00
My money is on MIJ, these are Gibson level, and in fact all US Hardware/PUPS last time I checked.

If it is 1/2 the Guitar the Revo Casino I had is, it may well be worth the price, especially when you grab one used later for 1500.00.

YMMV, But I doubt it. ;)

Yes, they're MIJ, hence my question on whether they are being built by the same factory that makes Gretsches. Certainly the MIJ Elitist Casinos are very nice indeed and a huge quality jump over the other Asian built ones.

I have no interest in one, but it's an unusual design.

From EPI's website...

Now, thanks to Dwight's incredible attention to detail and quality, and through special arrangement with Epiphone Japan, the Limited Edition Elitist Dwight Yoakam "Dwight Trash" Casino Outfit gives longtime Casino fans some new and startlingly original features while keeping the Casino's legendary sound just as you remember it.

I'll take that headstock over the elongated EPI norm. They just look so goofy. Not that I am crazy about the Coronado look...

I have a few old EPIs, one with a short version of the Elongated one, not bad at all, and an open Book 80 EPI that looks so nice... yadi yada

Man, I love Casinos, I have two of them, but I wouldn't pay $2,200 for a Casino even it was the one owned by John Lennon himself! If I'm spending over two grand I am certainly not looking at a Casino. That much dough gets me a top Gretsch, Rickenbacker, or Gibson. $2,200 for an Epiphone Casino is absurd.

It's a shame the price for that Dwight Trash is so unreasonable. That sure is a fine looking Casino and had it been, say, $1,200, I might have bought one.

Yep. It looks like a Gibson Trini Lopez. When I first saw it I thought "where are the diamond "F" holes?...

or Gibson. $2,200 for an Epiphone Casino is absurd.

And what would the comparable Gibson be is the question, and what is the MSRP and street price new? Just so I can understand the apples and apples? ;)

I got 1500.00 for my used [just] Revo, and it was not to a Lennon fan FWIW. Just on the guitar's merits.

Never saw that Trini Lopez. like that way better...

I dig the guitar. I think it's overpriced, and I don't understand Dwight Yoakum as a guitar endorser.

The comparable Gibson is probably the ES-330L. $2500 street price.

Personally, I'll take the Gibson.
