NGD, 1960-something Harmony archtop !

There's a dead spot on the G string from the 10 to 13 frets, but it doesn't sound dull out the chords when i use those notes, anyway . So souped it fell in my lap !

I had a Harmony Roy Smeck just like that one, even to the point of missing a pickguard! Great pickups...but I sold it when I found a Larrivee that I just had to have.

Love those old Harmonys! Silvertones too. I've been on the lookout for an Espanada, but haven't seen one for a reasonable price.

Eastwood has put out a reissue of the Espanada for $999 with case. I'm thinking about getting one in a lefty.

I saw that too recently. They look very cool, but it loses a bit of the vintage mojo. I'm going to hold out for one of the originals. Let me know if you get the Eastwood, I'm very curious.

That vintage mojo will cost you a couple grand, from what I hear. Too rich for my blood! That's probably due to only paying $525 for my favorite guitar of all time, a used American Tele.

My grandmother had a Silvertone that I DESTROYED when I was about 8 years old. Tried to take it apart and that was all she wrote.

Around $2000 depending on condition. It's high but not outrageous for a top of the line guitar. I swear I saw one last year go for 1300-1500 but the condition may have been meh.

Cool! Good luck in your quest! I'll post about it if I end up getting the RI Espanada.

Congrats! I had one exactly like that one -- down to the broken off pickguard. It was my first guitar! Inherited from my dad.

I think I let a friend borrow it. Not sure where it is now. :(

I think they made a couple hundred thousand of those, (acoustic archtop w/f-holes) over like 30 years or something. I mean, I've had 2 of them, both picked out of the trash so there are a ton of them out there. I've seen pics of the Harmony reissues but I've never held one or anything.

Jeez! Finnlozada's pic brought back memories! My Dad had one exactly like it (with no pickguard) in the mid-1960s. Haven't seen once since!
