NGD: She's so beautiful, she's just so beautiful.

Well a while ago I decided to get myself a Gibson SG Standard, but tough financial obligations meant that I had to pay it in a couple of terms until I had paid off the full 850 Euro cost price.

Well today was the day that I paid the final term and that I could take her home.

And here she is with the Bastard son of Fido.

And since I made that guitar using a template made using my previous Gibson SG, I was wondering if the "son of Fido" would fit the Gibson case and yes, it does.

Nice one!
I once had a SG special in ebony. I used to like humbuckers back then. Then I somehow switched to the singlecoil side and sold the SG. Don't miss it. The neck was really sticky..
but now, when I see your SG...

Very awsome collection. I like that Kahler looking tremolo, never seen one mounted in a SG before.

I assume you mean this one? I love how HUGE that Gretsch White Falcon looks on Malcolm, is he such a small guy?

I'm actually thinking of putting a cream switch ring on there like Angus' guitar.

Really nice man. I never got turned on by SGs until this past winter when I got a really good deal on a used Epi g400 and that led to me buying a 60s tribute 2 weeks ago. I wish I knew what I missing a long time ago, but I never even picked one up to try until this year.

Did it myself, it's a Kahler Hybrid which I also have on my self made explorer. That guitar went from THIS...

...to this.

You'd be amazed how much difference the placing of the pickup makes.

I made several SG's over the years with the "Fido" (Named after Fido Dido, the 7up mascot of which it had a pin glues to the headstock) being the first.

Then there's the 12 string I'm in the process of building, it's made entirely of scrapwood, it has a 24 fret birdseye maple fingerboard (not yet installed when I took this picture.)

And last but for from least here's the second body I made from the same plank of walnut I made the Son of Fido from. It'll get the full SG custom treatment with three buckers and an ebony fingerboard but with a Fender-style 25.5 scale length.

And then there's the banger...

Which I bought to take apart and use the parts in the build of my 12 string.

I always liked the SG shape. About 40 years ago I owned one. There was a time when almost nobody was playing them. Enjoy it!

Beautiful SG Blazer. The black, white and chrome look awesome the way they contrast each other. Thanks for the other pictures and the backstory. I've said this a bunch of times but you should write a book or tie a guitar business into a blog. You have some very interesting stuff that you have worked on.

Congratulations!
