Show your "pointy guitars" :D

well, I just needed to start this thread, it seemed funny around here in TDPRI , plus, playing many genres, I'm always open to innovation and difference, so I like them :)

Here's my pointiest(I'm assuming we're talking headstocks here) and in my case, they're all inexcusable because I made them this way.

My pair of "pointy" guitars are only pointy at the headstock: '92 Jackson Black Dinky HSH, Floyd;
'82 MIJ ESP The Mirage, Red, HS, Floyd (not "LTD")

Gotta find the right bridges for those last two, and then, they'll go back together.

ITSGOTQUACK you win! we can close the thread (just joking :D). you have a cool collection of Icemans (Icemen?). I love that shape too, plus I've always wanted that uke :D. I sold mine to finance the telecaster, but someday I'll have one built and it will have a narrower body (depth-wise), mine weighted too much :)

Gibson Explorer E2

I bought it new in 79..........Kahler vibrato, walnut body with maple accents, ebony fretboard, gold hardware...........wahhhhhh, I sold it to buy my PRS. Seller's Remorse!

oh....'forgot to mention: It got stolen from my house and amazingly, I got it back the next day! The guys who stole it were trying to sell it to Skip's Music in Sacramento, the next day..... I just happened to be in that store at the same time they showed up, with my insurance photos.

The great staff at Skip's sequestered me in the back room while they waited their chance, surrounded the guys and pounced on them. They handed me the guitar and amp back. That should've been a sign to keep it, but in 1994, I sold it.

I love the E/2. I'm trying to find one myself to hang along side of the V/2 Great axe.

ITSGOTQUACK's collection sure is impressive, but I think I can safely claim to be the only person here on TDPRI who cut his teeth on a cheap-o lame B.C. Rich Warlock. That ugly thing probably still is the one guitar I spent the most time with. But I'd love to be proven wrong, that would make me feel less lame ;-)

I have a red Warlock I spent quite a lot of time with.
I wore the original cheap-o trem it came with out and retro fitted it with a second hand gold Floyd Rose.

I refinished this Warlock bass in ReRanch Seafoam green.

Other pointys I own include 2 Dean Z's(explorer shaped), a Kramer Vanguard, the previously mentioned Warlocks, and a baritone V project under construction.

Neck of the V project.

Several years ago, I had this 1987 Ibanez Maxxas MX3 for awhile and then traded it for something different. It truely is one of the only guitars I have missed after trading it away.... I would love to find another someday but they are rare and seem to be pretty expensive when you find one now. It had a chambered mahogany body that was light as a feather and all of the hardware including frets was stainless steel..... I miss her....
