Reverb pedal evaluation
My spring reverb went out on my Silvertone Twin Twelve so I'm comparing reverb pedals. Now I have the new Holy Grail Plus and Fender FRV-1. There are feature differences of course but the tone and classic reverb tone is what I'm after. Any thoughts for your same evaluations of these two? I'm not going outside these two as I believe between one of them should make me happy.
Come on guys give me some feedback. Thanks. |

Can't comment on the "New" Holy Grail as mine is fairly old and the large box variety. I use it in front of my Magnatone (with the amazing vibrato) and also in front of my Roland JC77 since the reverb pan was missing in that when I got it. I love the sound in the Spring mode the best, but the Hall has some appeal for certain music. I never use the "Flerb" unless I want to really make some weird sounds using the Flerb and maxing out the Vibrato on the Maggie. Sounds cool, but I have nothing to use that sound for!

Well a rather large box that the switch and cord attach to but has the sound is the '63 Fender Reverb Tank. Original or RI works great with decent tubes in them. They can be expensive but nail the sound!!!! Have fun, Wayne
