Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar Is Coming!

I picked up a copy of Total Guitar while at Barnes & Noble today. Great article on Johnny Marr. He discusses at length the features on his upcoming Fender Jaguar model. Thicker neck, four way Tele style switch and other improvements ( IMHO ) on the Jag. This will definately be on my wish list.

Ditto my friend ( but I will still likely buy it just to stimulate the economy )!

Anyone heard any news on when this Jag is coming out? Fender has nothing on their site.

blah. beefier neck and tele switch I like . . .

but moving the high pass filter to the top horn ruins it for me. I would much rather have the rhythm circuit. this guitar is also going to be way too expensive.

I also saw the Total Guitar interview and have one thing to say; oh HELL yes.
This looks like it's going to produce an amazing sig. guitar.

I guess I'm living in the past - I always thought that he used Gibbies and Rickies and his Casino in The Smiths but very few Fenders.

Here is a cool link to his guitar page (You should turn green from envy): http://johnny-marr.com/guitarchestra...ohnnymarr.html

He specifically states that he used all of the guitars listed until 2005. He then permanently switched over to the Jag. Based on the article, he has franken - jagged his together over the years to find the combination he likes.

Maybe we might luck out and it be a MIM model ( like the Muddy Tele ).

I got the copy as well just for him. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll be able to get one?

The article mentioned nothing of release date, so knows.

For all the Johnny Marr - Check out Vini Reily or Durutti Column. I think they have similar styles, if not better?

Here's some footage of him:

This one is pure Vini:

I haven't seen E.D. Patton post here in a long time, but he did set up work on Johnny's guitars a while back in Oregon.

I wonder if this may be UK only..
IIRC the Status Quo Teles were that way, as were the Biffy Clyro Squiers..

It might be just me but I never liked The Smiths and it's mostly because of Morrissey's way of singing.

Hopefully, the guitar wouldn't play like Morrissey sings.
