Favorite Summer Songs!
I'm soooo looking forward to the summer season, but so far the only consolation I have is listening to "summer songs".
I have a couple of favorites - and while very different, they both have this intense air of good time summer feel to them: One with a real peaceful "in-the-park" sort of feel; the other one's got a more "urban" feel to it. That "rhythm guitar solo" towards the end is awesome! Which are y'all's favorite summer songs? |

First, let me say how great it is to have someone from Norway use the term "y'all's".

Is it wrong that my favorite summer jam is my own? Here is me a couple years ago, I play everything. Maybe my favorite song I ever wrote.

Oh geez, I could go one for ever. But here are a few important ones:
- Lighthouse "Take It Slow" - Friends of Distinction "Grazzin' in the Grass" - Bob Marley "Three Little Birds" (and all of his other hits) - Bob Seger "Night Moves" (nothing like a little Seger around the fire at the lake) - Lighthouse "Sunny Days" (Canada's summer national anthem) ...there are so many good ones.

I find that my choice of music is strongly tied to the weather, not so much because of song's explicit lyrical themes, but because of the tenor and the feel of the music. For instance, I think U2's music tends to be inherently wintry, with a few exceptions, such as "Joshua Tree," which is very spring/summer to me.

And I think "the heat was hot" is a good line.

The That Petrol Emotion album "Chemicrazy" is very "summer" to me, for no good reason.
