Audioslave or Soundgarden ?

personally I love Audioslave way more, something about Tom Morello's playing and Chris Cornell's voice together is great

plus Morello's riffs on their first album (check out set it off, exploder, cochise) are just MASSIVE

I dug on some Soundgarden, a loooong time ago! Badmotorfinger had some cool, sludgy psychedelia on it. Never really got into Audioslave

Soundgarden by far. Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, and Down on the Upside are phenomenal albums. Audioslave had one very good album.

Just due to my age I have to say Audioslave. But I like Soundgarden as well.

yeah he rips on both RATM and audioslave I love his sound, I wonder how he plays with gain without hum though , I'm having a big problem with distortion pedals and hum

but yeah Badmotorfinger is sludgy and awesome with Kim on guitar and audioslave is more clear and in your face rock

I prefer Kim Thayil's guitar playing so I prefer Soundgarden.

really? I prefer Tom Morello , he has more catchy riffs and a MASSIVE sound, and his weird whammy solos and stuff are just different but Kim is amazing too

This is less of a Ginger or Maryann and more of a Ginger or Mrs. Howell comparison for me.

Soundgarden all the way.

now are we talking guitar playing or just Chris Cornell's voice ?

for the voice I prefer Soundgarden too although the screams he does in Audioslaves first album are insane , I think people here who are more of soundgarden fans or dislike Audioslave based on their radio hits should for sure check out their first self titled album or just check out Set It Off and Cochise

Soundgarden all the way, I dug the sludgy Sabbath-esque vibe they had.

The songs...audioslave always sounded like a big rock and roll band to me. Soundgarden had real depth...they could be pretty, poppy, creepy, or headbangin'.

On 'That Metal Show' they had Tom Morello on and they all had a throwdown for which band was better, RATM or Audioslave. I think Rage one.

I really like "The day I tried to live" by Soundgarden. They just had a really cool feel to their songs.

Soundgarden by a country mile.

Cochise was OK, but it's no Jesus Christ Pose. Or Boot Camp, or Ugly Truth, or Fell on Black Days...etc.

Soundgarden, completely. I like Audioslave, but, Soundgarden were just about perfect.

Soundgarden for me. They just had the chemistry as a band. Chris is one of the best voices in Rock music.

Soundgarden by a trillion light-years.

Audioslave were a band that was less than the sum of its parts for me.
