I remember watching the B-52s open for The Who ('82?). The crowd wasn't very appreciative and pelted the band with garbage, even going so far as to hit one of the girls in the hair with a shoe. The band left the stage after playing maybe 15 minutes. I felt bad for them and wish the crowd could've been a little more restrained. I can't apologize for the actions of others or I would.

I saw them at the Armadillo.
I was, at the time, a typical "old school" rock/country guitar nerd.
I was expecting to be unimpressed.
They killed!
So much fun energy.
Must have been in 79 or 80.
Great venue, the ol' AWHQ!

I loved "Rock Lobster" from the first time I heard it, um which would have been back in the late 70's? (geez I'm old). It's one of those songs that only Frank Zappa could have improved on... (which is high praise in my book)!

Here is a fairly recent one.

Kate the redhead is 63 looking good and rockin.

The B-52's might be the most all fun dance band ever all fun nothing serious just fun music.

Rock lobster was released in 1981, so it isn't THAT long ago...
