Not to mention steely Dan's Bodhisatva, which is just incendiary from every angle.
It's kind of a modified bebop rock solo....actually amy have started and ended a whole genre just by playing the solo itself. Never attempted again really, or at least not pulled off with the kind of flat out chops Denny Dias flashed throughout. Dias' career wasn't long, but sure was meaningful. |

This is a serious contender in my book: (1:28 for solo)
Simple and to the point. I do love that My Sharona solo too though...
