Guitarists You have Just Discovered

Not necessarily that they are new, just new to you.

For me one is Kenny Vaughn. Since seeing a post about him, I have really enjoyed checking out his stuff. Others?

Julian Lage is a beautiful player :)

Recent discovery for me.....Roy Rogers - I'm not usually a great fan of blues slide playing but this guy is just so good at it - great rhythm to his playing, plus he's accurate in his pitching plus he sings really well....

This is him

Somebody mentioned Tab Benoit in a thread here and I'm impressed by him. Nothing really flashy, just quality stuff.

OK, Luis Cabezas, with The Dollyrots....

I just got their current CD - a little messed up - and I find I like every cut on it. They are kind of a pop punk trio, smart and at times pointed lyrics. And I love the music...

Luis is the only guitar- Kelly Ogden sings and plays bass...

What I love these days is being able to check out all of people's recommendations on you tube.

Growing up with the same stale music on the radio over and over. As a teenager, who had the money to experiment when albums were $14 and CDs $17.

Joe bonamassa has been a good find. I've also enjoyed Marty Stewart and his band quite a bit. Both I found here on this forum.

Lage might be the most exciting young guitarist i have heard in a very long time...i also first heard of him in the last year.

Another cat i have recently got into is Mike Moreno.

I remember when vinyl was $4 a pop... very easy to try an album by its cover!

I'm a little biased, but if you haven't heard Big John Stannard, you really should:

Mr. Perch, I read your rant on Bonamassa in another thread of yours. Man, he must've really pooped on your pancakes at some point. Sure, he's got some serious rock influences and is not what I would consider a blues purist (nor do I think he would call himself that) t but the guy has some serious chops and play the blues. Maybe you just haven't heard the right stuff. Check out his renditions of Blues Deluxe, You Upset Me Baby, et al. The hair band shredder thing I don't get at all.

Same with Gary Moore. He did some albums full of rock wankery, but he could also play some serious blues. Check out Blues for Greeny.
