The Hall and Oats cover was lo-fi genius, thanks for posting.
+1 on Vanilla Fudge and Twist and Shout. So you finally woke up from your nap, Mud? Joan Osborne is my favorite living female singer. I think she hits all the R&B stylistic vocal nuances without taking it too far. And this is as far as i've heard her go!

Wow a lot of interesting posts. Mine is actually Kenny Wayne Sheperd doing Voodoo Child live. I never get tired of Jimi or Stevie's versions, but I have seen KWS play it 3 times on stage and it is truly a spiritual experience.

Slauson Slim-Loved the rocked up Dancing Queen.
Yeah! Written and recorded by the Shelton Bros. on Decca in 1935, Just Because was recorded by many, including Conway Twitty and Peggy Lee. But Elvis Presley's version in 1955 has the nervous energy i dig. And Scotty Moore is great.

I don't know how you could possibly say KWS's "version" of Voodoo Chile is any better (or different) than SRV's. I listened to both KWS Voodoo Chile videos on youtubers, and they both sound EXACTLY like SRV. Except KWS can't or won't sing, which makes them inferior. But he is such a clone that it's ridiculous. KWS's covers of this song are the worst I've ever heard.
