I've been on a Chick Corea's Elektric Band kick for the past few months. There's something about Frank Gambale's playing that I really enjoy. And the rest of the band is crazy good. Dave Weckl's drumming is stupid good.
Here's a good example of what these guys do.

The other guitarist in my dad band was in Elektric Band for awhile. (And, no, we don't play fusion. I could no more play fusion than... pick your metaphor. Our repertoire is pretty straight-up, traditional garage band.)
