Love their version of the song! Have you seen this one where Rod Stewart surprises Jeff Beck onstage?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T43m6dcMk6U

OK, spent 15 minutes trying to embed this video in the thread. I tried the "YouTube" icon above and inserted every embed and link code. What am I missing?

Rod's the man! Wasn't he going to release a new album this year? Remember reading about it 'round x-mas, can't find anything about it now though...

Rod squandered his voice musically w/ the Songbook records.

They brought in a lot of dough but his voice is half what it was.

Mick Hucknall is doing a better job w/ the Faces than Rod could do now...

You take the last part, what is after the "=", copy that to your clipboard, hit the 'youtube' icon in the editor, and paste it in there.

It was very sad that "The Jeff Beck Group" with Stewart,Wood,Waller and Hopkins broke up.Just listen to "Truth" and hear what they were capable of!

I'm a huge fan of those two together, but I call shenanigans on that being a surprise. It's a whole step down from where Jeff usually plays it- almost as if some old rooster can't quite hit the high notes anymore.

Yea, me either. Thats what we do, lower the key. Key changes are a good thing. Bass player hates it though.

If he wants an opinion, he will have to sit in the back of the van with the other opinion (i.e. the drummer).

here are some pictures are from a Jeff Beck Group concert circa 1967. Rod played a 12-string "Danocaster" on Beck's Bolero

That was vintage Beck and Stewart - man, imagine if they just teamed up and did a whole new album together, All brand new material, even pen it together.
Such a perfect match of voice and guitar, they could really benefit each other.

It would give Beck kind of a new chapter on playing for the song and Stewart back to doing what he does best. For me, Stewart just dropped off the planet doing all that Frank Sinatra type vibe.

Sure would appeal to most their mutual fans I think.
