3 good Tele, 3 incredible players: Luca Olivieri with Tommy Emmanuel & John Jorgenson

Hello folks. As some of you may know, the (sadly) last edition of Soave Guitar Festival is happening here in Italy these days (Sat 28th - Mon 30th April). Soave is a couple hours from where I live, it's a wonderful place for wine & food, so I picked up a few friends and we enjoyed a short week-end with the Saturday night concert included.

My friends weren't much involved in guitar stuff, they mostly came for the wine so I couldn't force them to endure multiple nights of concert, but I could enjoy some pretty impressive moments of playing nonetheless. Like this one:

This rare and exciting moment, three world class players having fun together, happened during the first day of our beautiful Soave Guitar Festival ed. 2012 (Soave, VR, Italy). Each musician was given his own time to play during the show, but at some point Luca Olivieri asked Tommy and John to come up on stage and play with him.

Amazing as you'd expect this to be. Little monument to the Fender Telecaster, too, and Tommy Emmanuel's guitar is plugged into a gorgeous '63 Bassman head and cabinet.

Other musicians rocking that night were Andrea Palazzo, Davide Varini and the incredible Little Barrie trio from the UK.

Cheers,

Giacomo

That was great - thanks for sharing it. I've only been lucky enough to see some of Italy once - but I haven't been to Soave. It's a bit of a long drive from Sydney unfortunately

Love it!,... Thanks for sharing.

Three different Tele players, three different Tele tones, but Tele tones nevertheless!

That's a great post, thank you so much.

I always like everything that Luca does and John does, all of it.

I really like this clip because it brings out the best of Tommy; he really is a great player. Sometimes his talent doesn't shine through as much as it should.

OK, since you guys are enjoying, I'll show you the same performance recorded by someone else; I did better with picture quality with my cheap-but-modern digital camera, but here you can have a definitely better audio. Now those Telecasters twang for real:

It's also a very different angle, so... Enjoy this one, too.

Great to see Tommy on electric... it doesn't surprise me that he's an absolute wizard plugged in too
