New Jack White today
Anyone else picking up 'Blunderbuss' today? I'm gonna swing by the record store after work and pick up a copy.
Edit: Thought I was posting in the Music To Your Ears forum. Please move if you can. Last edited by stevehyphen; April 24th, 2012 at 09:54 AM. Reason: Wrong forum |

I'd like him to do a straight ahead Blues record. He didn't used to be my cup of Tea , but I've seen him in two documentries now and he is growing on me.
He is very original and different for sure. |

If you haven't seen 'Under Blackpool Lights' you should check that out too. That's my favourite live performance he's done. |

I don't know the name of it , but its the one where he and Meg toured those really unheard of cities in Northern Canada. I really enjoyed it. Changed my whole opinion of him. Then of course the Loud movie with The edge and Jimi. He's out there but in a good way. I would like to see him do a Straight Blues disc with his twist on it. I think I would really dig that. Electric and Acoustic. Full band, not just a drummer........

Haven't listened to much, but I'm liking it so far. You can never go wrong with Jack White.
I also got the new Brendan Benson album as well, which is also great. If you haven't listened to his solo stuff, you really should.

Namedropping alert!
I'm from Detroit originally. Knew Jack White before the Stripes got huge. Real nice guy, suprisingly tall, and shy. He seems quite a bit different now, but success will do that to you I guess. My old girlfriend's little sister dated Brendan Benson. He seemed like a real douche. Good music tho What does this have to do with anything? I'm drunk, that's all Glad the new LP is good. I miss Detroit |

We miss YOU. Come back...
I complain (a lot) but there's something about it. Remember : as far as residents native to a city making music are concerned (as opposed to musicians who move to a city to do it) - Detroit's got it all over everywhere else. Stood in line for a buddy today so he and his kid can see Jack at the Scottish Rites Cathedral in May. First show sold out. Second show ? 2:00pm on a Thursday afternoon. Jack is wacky. I saw them a bunch. MOJO magazine gave Jack's record 5 stars and "Instant Classic" status.

Never heard any of his other stuff. I knew he did the White Stripes thing with his sister and the ....might get loud documentary.
It takes me a while to warm up to new things (still don't have a cell phone) but the tunes posted here are cool. I could for sure crank "I'm Shakin'" and bounce around the cab of my truck! |
