Bruce Peninsula

I watched the movie "Small Town Murder Songs" a couple of months ago and while I wasn't too impressed by the movie I certainly was floored by the soundtrack.

Anyway I did some research the other day and found out that the soundtrack was written and performed by a Canadian band called Bruce Peninsula.

It's rare that I find new music that I really like these days so I just wanted to share this with you all.

This is the first I've heard of this. It was apparently filmed just 1 to 1.5 hours from where I live. These places are not, by the way, on the geographic formation known as the Bruce Peninsula, but somewhat south of that. It was the thread title that made me open this thread as my family has owned property on the Bruce Peninsula for 55 years. From reading the band bio there's no indication of why they're named Bruce Peninsula. However, in a completely unrelated connection (through the local celtic festival), I discovered that I used to know one of the band members.

The band is on FaceBook for those likewise connected.

Thanks for the link. I'm going to try to get a copy of the movie to watch.

The movie gets good reviews. Might have to check it out. The band sounds pretty good too.
