reminds me of what I might expect to hear on the "Guitar for Practicing Musicians" CDs that came out in the late 80s/early 90s.

I think the guy has talent and I'm impressed, but it's not something I would normally listen to. I think the 3 minute clip of the 3 or 4 song snippets was perfect for me. Seeing/hearing some of the things he was doing made me smile/chuckle.

Not my preference of music but I respect his playing. He has command over his guitar and has developed his technique to get his instrument to do what he wants to do express himself musically. I agree with the previous post it is a very clean technique he's developed

Extremely proficient, but it doesn't trigger the "man, I wish I could do that" reflex.

I didn't notice, but I went and looked and you're right! That always seemed like a bit of a joke to me. Maybe there's a bit of truth behind the idea.

It looks like the middle finger is hammering on and the ring finger is activating a harmonic. I'll have to test my theory when I get home.

I looked a little closer at those weird harmonics. His ring finger hits the spot on the B string for the harmonic while his middle finger somehow taps the string to make it ring... I haven't a clue how he moves his fingers in such a controlled manner, it's a very strange movement to try and coordinate with those two fingers.

He's also using compression and a crap-ton of gain, and wiggling his tremolo a tiny bit, which helps put some energy into the harmonics also.

I like it. Its musical. Musically rather simple mostly. Its not at all math. He can do astrophysics I can tell you that much.

Ha! I was just thinking, as I was watching the video "This sounds like the soundtrack a Japanese video game."

His technique is very impressive, but I'm not sure I could take any more of his playing than I heard just now. Great skill, though.

I think that it's derivative of the early work of that Korean Mario Bros. kid... and just as silly.
