My brother is HUGE Alajandro fan...
but for the life of me I can't get into it at all and that Youtube clip sounded like a stoned college student noodling around in E (ugh...)

And maybe you should listen to your brother more (insert smiley of your choice here). Nah - Alejandro just ain't your thing - nothing wrong with that. I do still love this tune though. I'll also add that this song isn't really representative of most of his work. Cheers, Geoff

It reminds me of Spaghetti Westerns...Oh Well Part 2 and others of that ilk. I like it, thanks for posting.
My favorite of his was Castanets, a rather silly song I admit. But it rocks.

Now Castanets, that song rawks!!
I had no idea who he was previously except for the locals who adored him - anyway, got a chance to see him at his annual SXSW outdoor gig some years ago when that album came out - right near the SRV statue... He had a full-on rock band (3 guitarists - one guy was a feedback expert - VERY talented lead player) and a PAIR of cellos. Unbelievable ability to rock the house and find hidden melodic riffs and overtones that filled the song space with etherial textures. I have been a fan ever since -
