Hayes Carll

Texas has been blessed with more than it's share of great singer-songwriters. Although not exactly new, Hays Carll continues in this tradition of making magic with words and a guitar.

Man, that sounds lame...like i work for him or something. I don't. I'll just post some videos and shut up. BTW I think he's a good songwriter.

Yep, very good songwriter. I like "She Left Me For Jesus." Funny stuff.

I am not that familiar with his work but my big sister loves his songs and she has excellent taste.

Saw him a couple three times. He hung around and spoke with folks on every occasion. Very cool dude. Excellent sound and heartfelt lyric.

He is amazing. We saw him in Santa Fe a few weeks ago.

He'll also be at the Americana Music Conference in Nashville. Let me put in a plug for this convention. It's absolutely some of the best music you will ever hear. Four nights spread out over five or six clubs. Truly amazing.

I remember hearing "I Got a Gig" for the first time on the radio and laughing out loud...almost had to pull over.

The older I get the more importance I ascribe to the song. With a good song everything else comes easier. And I'm in awe of the people who conjure them up. Words and music son, just words and music.

I just got back from the Hayes show. Still drunk. Whooooo!
Seriously, he's awesome. And his guitarist, Scott Davis, is all *over* that $#!^.

I saw him several years back in Lexington Ky. He had a really funny song about making license plates with the slogan live free or die.
