I dont know what it is, but somehow those 3 chords Pete plays from 2:10 to 3:10 contain the meaning of life. |

My favorite Who songs are the usual suspects on "Who's Next." Yes, they've been played to death, but there's a good reason for that.

Very tough call. I love the who. Not too long ago I bought the Live at the Isle of Wight DVD-there is some great stuff on there. At the moment, I'd go with My Wife. I happen to like Entwistle's singing.

Pick one? You're kidding, right?
Depending upon my mood, any of the following would get my vote:

I can't pick a favorite as I am a big Who fan. There's something in each era of their career that I really like. For the early stuff, I really like their version of "Leaving Here" (really like Motown, too, so this is a double whammy for me!) and anything where Pete is railing on a 12-string Ric, like on "Can't Explain," "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere," or "The Good's Gone." Of course, I'll add "My Generation" to this list, too.
For the late 60's/early 70's, I'd have to say "Young Man Blues" as I just just saw Rodger Daltrey live last month and his band did a killer version of it. And of course Tommy and Who's Next are epic. For the mid/late 70's, I'd say the solo acoustic version of "Drowned" and "Who Are You" and "Trick of The Light." See, it's hard to pick! |

I'm a huge fan of their first 2-3 albums, but if I had to pick just one song, I think it would be... The Real Me

If this thread has proven anything so far, it's that no one song can be chosen. Too many great ones!

5:15 (perhaps the whole Quadrophenia album as well).

I am a huge Who fan. It is hard to narrow it down, but I gotta go with " Substitute " with " Behind Blue Eyes ", " Squeeze Box " and "Reign O'er Me " coming in a very close 2nd,3rd and 4th.
Here is a sweet vid of a vintage live performance of " Substitute." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aywu48AtRNY
