Springsteen - London Calling

Just got the new 2 disc DVD of Bruce Springsteen live in Hyde Park filmed last summer. It's a really good show, lots of Telecaster and plenty of great guitar playing. The band are really tight and energetic. It's a really good performance. If you haven't seen it yet it's worth watching. Any one else seen this?

It's funny it's called that. I remember looking at my brother's copy of The Clash's 'London Calling' as a kid, at the pictures on the inner sleeve and on the back, and thinking that they reminded me a bit of Springsteen. That and some of the music was a little similar (The Card Cheat for instance).

Compared to my other knowledge of Punk which was The Pistols, it didn't seem to fit.

One of those little connections one innocently makes and now here it is in print!

Springsteen's as great as he ever was. I might check that out.

Springsteen, Dave Grohl, Steven Van Zandt and Elvis Costello did a terrific raw show stopping performance of London Calling on the 2003 Grammy awards after Joe Stummer died.
