Who's the best singer/guitarist?
...or guitarist/singer?
Taking both into account, who do you rate the highest? My vote? LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM. I like his voice and I think he's a very tasty, underrated guitarist. Oh yeah, he wrote a catchy hit or two as well! So who you got??

Yeah, Vince Gill. On the acoustic side, I like James Taylor a lot.

I like Kenny Wayne Shephard, not the best but I like listening to him and I have seen him live. Gets better and better all the time.

Wow - hard to argue with Jeff Buckley.
Very hard. But I will. Chris Whitley performs "Hellhound On My Trail", and it will blow your mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1vZ3NIuJ3s |

Hmmm... Martin Simpson has to rate up there, fine singer and un-freakin-believable guitarist. I'd also have to nod to Tony Rice, one of the world's greatest flatpickers who at one time had a fabulous bluegrass vocal style. Then there's Doc Watson, whom I never tire of whether singing or picking.
On the electric side there is Jerry Garcia, who in his prime delivered on both fronts with a great, emotive, unique style. Mark Knopfler might not be a suave vocalist, but he just owns his material. I think he plays guitar, too. Finally, I'd have to give it to Richard Thompson. He delivers his incredible songs with great dry wit and plays guitar like, well, Richard Thompson. 'Nuff said.
