Help! Pickup hum on my Tele

I recently put in a Duncan Hotrails in the bridge of my Tokai tele. The neck pickup is stock. I now have a hum coming when I switch to the neck pickup by itself and a bit of a hum when I switch to the in between position. Thankfully, there is zero noise when using the Hotrails in the bridge position alone.

I followed the wiring diagram from Seymour Duncan's web site...the one which shows you how to wire a Hotrails in the bridge while using a standard single coil in the neck.

How can I fix this?

You'll need a hum-cancelling neck pup as well.

When you put the SD in, did you ground the bridge? Some of the Duncans do not have the brass plate on the underside.

The problem your having with your pickups is a common one.
You will need to de-solder the 2 wires that you have solderd together for your ground. If you have black and white going to the ground, and red to the positive, you will need to switch so it is red and black to ground and white to the positive.
It will tell you about it in the instructions for your SD.
Good luck
Rick
