Grestch or TVJones Trons vs. Gibson. Anyone ever A/B the two

I'm getting the wheels in motion for a Tele Parts Caster. Kicking around the idea of maybe using FilterTrons. I also happen to have a Gibson Patent No. Humbucker (from the 60's) that I may use. I'm wondering if anyone out there has A/Bd a FilterTron vs. a Gibson Humbucker and if so how much of a differrence in tone is there is between the two?

I certainly haven't swapped them out of the same guitar, but I do have a vintage Gretsch w/ 'Trons and a Les Paul with Seth Lovers (a good PAF copy). The 'Trons are a lower output pickup compared to a Gibson type pickup, but have more clarity as a result. Chords sound much more defined through a 'Tron. They also have a bit more high end. I've found 'Trons have to be cranked up pretty close to the strings to sound good. Hope this helps.
