Another Bridge Pickup Comparison...Don Mare, Fred Stuart, and Lollar "52"
Anyone out there had a chance to compare Don Mare Tele pickups to the other "gold standards" of vintage style, AlNiCo 2 and 3 pu's? Wha'da'ya' think? Thanks.

Ive used all three sets and while they are all fine pickups the Fred Stuarts nail the vintage BG tele tone the Don Mares do a great job also with a little more Roy snarl, the 52 Lollars arent bad pickups but I much prefer his vintage set to the 52's they compare much more favorably to the FS and DM's in my opinion.
Just my opinion , your ears are the test that matters. |
