noisy noisless

Hello Boys,
I just installed a new set of Fender vintage noisless in an American Std 97.
60 Hz hum is pretty much unchanged. I could live with the tone. But the hum was the problem. This is probably already covered in here somewhere but I couldn't find it.
Thanks,
Slack

Check your grounding....make sure all is in order. I had the same problem once. It's tedious but necessary.

Is it hum or is it buzz? If it's buzz, it's most likely grounding and you may have to play around a bit in order to lose it. If it's hum (which theoretically it shouldn't be with a noiseliess pup), then you could double-check installation. I've had buzz after installing humbucking pups that I eventually eliminated through grounding. Good luck.

My house is poorly grounded and I have a computer in my practice room....in the right places in the room, even my buckers hum a lil.

It is the exact noise that all single coils make in the presence of beer signs Christmas lights, flourescents etc. when you take your hands off the strings.
Noise pretty much disappears when you touch the strings. I A/B it with either of my *** Teles and it is no different.
Took a Fluke meter: both pots, switch plate, switch, bridge plate, both pickups are 0.0 Ohms to the ground side of the jack.
Soldered a gnd wire from the tone pot case to the central gnd on the vol pot case, and a gnd wire from the central gnd to the switch case. This one has the gnd lug under the bridge plate. The black wire from the bridge pickup is soldered there. The black wire from neck pickup is soldered at the central gnd on the tone pot. Both yellow pickup wires go to the switch. The gnd wire that goes to the bridge plate strikes me as a little odd, the wire comes out of a hole in the body, end of the wire is stripped and it just lays on the body to make contact with the bottom of the bridge plate. I don't know if that is stock or not. 2 different amps, 2 different cables, at home, at a club. As far as noise, it is exactly like every tele I've ever picked up. I could use it on a gig easy because it acts just like a tele, In fact I did use it on a gig Tuesday, but I thought I was buying noiseless. Sorry if I got to rambling.

I don't have much experience installing pickups, but I installed a set of these last week in my Tele. I'd guess there must be some installation or component issues because my guitar went from being the noisiest I have owned to being completely noise free after the installation.

Sorry I can't offer more info then that. Are your switch, pots, jack etc. ok?
