I believe the CS 59 Esquire and the CS '63 Tele share the same bridge pup. The only '60' Tele I know of is the Classic series, and like the AV '62 they don't use CS pickups, but have an alternative specification. They are all interchangeable in that with a small amount of soldering they just 'slot in'.

I'm not familiar with CS models and what pickups they have.
The Classic Series '60s Tele has a bridge pickup wound around 6.4k; its polepieces are staggered and are not beveled on their tops; it has plastic/vinyl (not cloth) insulated leads, and has plastic top/bottom plates for a framework without any metal baseplate. Fender's parts list identifies the part number as the same pickup used on the Classic Series '50s Tele and '50s Esquire, and in an earlier version of the Hwy 1 Tele; however all those had a flatpole bridge pickup. My theory is, that's a typo and the '60s bridge pup is the same one that's used in the Classic Series '69 Thinline and '72 Custom. I like the Classic Series pickups. I've figured out how to add a baseplate in an easily reversible way and I keep trying them with and without. I think I like them better with a baseplate. The AV '62 Custom bridge pickup polepieces are staggered with beveled tops. It has cloth insulated leads, fibrous top/bottom framework and a copper plated metal baseplate. Darrell loves his. I have one on order from my local Fender dealer to try. |

Kinda
I have tried the MIM 69 ri and the MIM 50's ri, and I own a USA 62 ri bridge pup. I think the MIM 69 ri and the MIM 60's ri are the same pup. IE...it is the same as the 50's ri, but with staggard poles.
The USA 62ri bridge pup is the finest pup I have ever owned. It has loads of twang. To the point where the layman might say it is "microphonic". I found the MIM pups mentioned above to be OK, but the reality is, they are not even in the same class as the CS USA 62ri pup. This pup is a CS shop pup, and it is as good a CS pup as you can find. It is special, and it is worth the coin.

I actually meant the 60 telecaster custom that the custom shop made recently.
here's an example http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/Gea...px?Item=849592 the reason I'm asking is that i have a line on a 62 AV bridge pickup and want to get it as a backup for my custom shop tele. I think it's pretty much the same as the CS ones without the CS sticker. Thanks y'all |

There is no CS sticker on the USA 62 ri pup that I got from guitarpartsresource. I don't really care...I got what I was looking for and then some.
For that matter, it didn't even come in a box. These pups are not sold individually, and packaged. They must have some kind of back door relationship with Fender. That is all I can determine. By the way, I went to Fullers just a few months ago, and that isn't the only 60's CS tele they have. I saw about 6 or more there. Arguably the best set of 60's CS Tele's I have ever seen in one place. Just stunning. I was in awe. The pup I have is very unique from any that I have seen before, and it is visibly different from any discussed in this thread. The pole pieces are staggard and BEVELLED.
