barden bridge, mini-humbucker in the neck?

Anyone here ever tried a Barden pickup in the bridge with a mini-hummer in the neck? I'm doing the Brent Mason/Terry Downs 3 pickup thing and was thinking Lollar min-hum in the neck, a strat Seymour Duncan Vintage Split Rails in the middle and a Barden in the bridge.

Just wondering how the volume balance would be when playing the Barden/Lollar together.

Minis & Bardens

John -- If the Lollars are modeled after the Gibson-style minihumbuckers, they'll be a good match for a Barden. The Gibson-style mini's are a fairly tame pickup compared to many humbuckers, which makes them a great match for a fairly strong single coil pup or a Barden (which can be adjusted to have a lot of output!). I've used Gibson and Seymor Duncan mini's in the neck matched with both Bardens or Harmonic Design Vintage Plus pups in the bridge to good effect -- it will just take a bit of height adjustment one way or the other. I'd recommend it.

My #1 gig T has an old Gibson mini out of an Epi Coronet and a lefty barden bridge PU (righty guitar) and they belnd very well. I use it for a lot of jazz gigs. My #2 (there are only 2) has a barden set. I go back/forth over which I prefer. I love 'em both and use 'em both; they're so dang cool for me/my applications. you got nothing to lose by trying it.
