Help!

For the last year or so I've been playing acoustic, but have just recently (in the last few months) joined a band, so to help our sound, I ordered a Standard Telecaster. From what I've heard from various places, the pickups on it are somewhat sub-par, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any alternatives. My band plays alternative/indie rock and are fairly loud (perhaps 7/10 on the loud spectrum). Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've found nothing wrong with the tele pups, get the guitar first, and if you don't like it change them.

Hey dude
Hearing things from various places - well listen, and judge for yourself for a start. All the standard tele's I've heard have been spot on in many respects. Now for the big question - what amp are you using?? Well you're gonna have a fab axe and if you control the amp - you'll control the sound. Best advice is let the amp do the work for you and dont drive the heck out of the p/ups if thats what you're really worried about. Turn em up but not all the way - thats what the amps for. All instruments should be set to the decibal level of the drums anyway - which is how you'll get all instruments hearing each other. Thats also what sound checks are for - remember to do those.
Lastly, don't put too much pressure on yourself mate - you'll grow into and up with that axe of yours. Good luck
