Seymour Duncan Antiquity?

Anybody use these pickups, Strat or Tele? They seem to be priced about the same as Fralins, wondered how they compared. Thanks! :)

Yep - I use them

I'm not sure why...but the Antiquities aren't given much credit around here. I've got a set of Antiquities for strat in a Strat, and I've got Strat neck and middle Antiquities in my Hwy 1 Tele, with a Broadcaster in the bridge. I adjust them fairly low in the pickguardd, and I couldn't be more satisified.

I think that some players "think" they want a vintage pickup...until they actually have a chance to use one, then they find out that it's not the pickup for them. Personally - I dislike almost every "overwound" pickup out there. I perfer a medium to low output single coil, setting low in the pickguard. I can get more of a crisp, chimey, clean tone, without it getting too bright.

Antiquities

While I have not tried the tele bridge antiquity, I think the neck pup is excellent. It replaced a Dimarzio Twang King neck ( one of the best IMO ) in a Fernandes tele I had. It was everything I love in a tele neck pickup. It will be finding a new home in a tele I'm putting together for a friend. He play's sans pick..just uses his thumb. It will sound killer with his style of play as it's a very warm, articulate and bluesy sounding pickup. If the bridge pup is as good, ( which I hear it is ) I would be happy to have a set in my tele.

I have a set of antiquities in my NAshville tele (neck-bridge) with a pro 2 in the middle. I like them quite a bit. Just cost more than my nocaster but sounds about the same.

Doc - Nocaster

Did you try a Nocaster in your Nashville also? I'm looking to try other pups in my Nashville. The Tex-Mex or whatever they are have too much top end for liking.
