Ron Ellis pickup question...

Hey peeps,

I recently bought a Jeff Senn Tele with his staggered 60's neck and mid tall neck pickups.

Very nice guitar. My question is regarding the Ron Ellis pickups, particularly the bridge which is very microphonic with a large emphasis in the mids. The pickups also seem to compress more then I'm used to, perhaps to the high output nature?

The pickups sound great but I'm wondering if other Ron Ellis users out there experienced the same characteristics? High output, lots of mid freq emphasis, microphonic and compressed.

I should add that the pickups are harmonically rich. The overtones and harmonics are abundant and leap off the guitar which is nice.

I should add the guitar is Alder with a rosewood fretboard.

Anyway, just curious about others experience with these pickups…thx

I think Ellis owners are scarce due to the long wait period ( over a year from what I've read) I wanted to buy a set but you had to pay the whole amount up front and I had seen a lot of post about poor communication. Sure do wish I could have tried his Broadcaster set.
