hum canceling question?
I've got a duncan antiquity, in the bridge. a fender original vintage, in the neck. had to reverse the wire's, and it is hum canceling in the middle, sound's great! great combo.... but, I'm reading that I have to switch the cover ground? why? it sound's great, no unusual noise's? help!!! I'm confused, will it make a difference? thank's Jerry :?

Ground Wire
IF the neck pickup cover is connected to the hot pickup lead, if a string touches the cover the guitar will momentarily short out. In fact you can test it by shorting a string to the cover & seeing if you get any sound out. I prefer to wire a seperate ground wire from each pickup so I can do things like series parallel & phasing without disassembling the guitar.

ground wire?
I had to go and see if it would short out when a string, or string's would touch the chrome cover. It did'nt short out at all! and I know I had to switch wire's, .... It just hit me, duh, I put a custom shop 4-way switch on it, and ran a seperate ground from the cover! duh.... thank's anyway, Jerry
