Did I read that correctly?

Did I read that correctly? Two pickups for less that 80 bucks, handmade for the country picker, with windings under 7.0...sounds like EVERYTHING I have always wanted anyway.

Well..

The pups are 85 bucks each. I went through the order process just to see exactly how much they were...I was one click away from...

Boy the wife would have been mad...

I work with a guy who lurks here. He saw them on the web and was asking me about them. I'm happy with what I have; but he's building a Warmoth Tele and I thought I'd ask for him.

It sounds like the same thing that has happened w/ amps over the last 10 years or so...every month a few new basement/boutique builders pops up, and every month, a few disappear. There is just not enough market to support everyone who wants to build amps. This is great for the consumer, as there are excellent hand built amps around for real bargain prices. The same thing is also happening w/ pedals.

how right you are. when i started, i think my business plan identified about 12 "boutique builders" i could name. today? just open a copy of VG...there's one on every page.

i've had a good run and i have no regrets.... but i'm now just thrilled to get out while i have my shirt on my back.

when I started, there weren't any at all, at least none identified as boutique, and, the ground floor wasn't that great of a place to be...old joke but very true: How do you make a million dollars in the guitar amp business...start with two million...
