Barden Strat Deluxe v. Standard
Has anyone compared the two? I'm not particularly concerned about putting covers on but the price difference is substantial when contemplating several guitars worth. I now have a Tele/Deluxe/Deluxe set and a Two-tone/Deluxe/Deluxe set and am very pleased. Thanks.

Got Standard Bardens
Hey Rick, I put the standard strat JB pickups in my 82 Strat about three months ago. Love 'em and as the ad says, from 3 feet away no one can tell the difference in looks. The output is just a little less than the deluxe version, but the tone and "touch" is about the same. The standard rails are flat, not curved upward like the deluxes, so you can have the pickup cover flush against the pickup.
I'm planning to bring the guitar to our jam on August 10. You're more than welcome to play it then.

I have the Deluxe set
in my 40th Ani. Strat and to my ear they have more output than the stock setup, not hotter just "more". They sure sound authentic and noiseless. I wish I still had my 68 hardtail to make a more reasonable comparison.
I can't heap enough praises on Joe for his efforts, I have his pups in my Tele as well. No looking back! J.R.
