Neck Pup opinions/advice
Hi All, I'm new here and would like some advice about neck pups
Gonna throw a partscaster together MIM body (alder) Reissue 3 brass saddle bridge Allparts rosewood neck Kluson vintage style tuners Voodoo TE60 grey bridge pup If I'm going to keep it trad I need to buy a neck pup -- problem is I see so few stellar reivews of neck pups - most seem to be dark/mellow. Can anyone recomend some nice neck pups that will ballance well with the Voodoo TE60? My other options are to drop in an 80's Gibson Les Paul humucker I have lying around. Or I could just go solo bridge pup wired esquire style. What should I do? |

Welcome!
For a brighter neck pu, its hard to beat the humble Dimarzio Twang King - its clear and punchy, almost mini-buckerish, and great value for the $$. I wish I hung onto mine
I'm sure the fellas will chip in with their .02 soon. Nice handle, btw! Trevor |

It all depends on what music style you'd want to do. Personally, if I were to build a "Parts-o'caster", I'd definitely use whatever is laying around, i.e. Gibson humbucker. But of course, an Esquire style guitar is always desirable to most guitarists.

I respect TG's posts
and one again, I will support it. The AS (mine is standard) are nice and bright not mushy. Very clear and jangly to the point of being stratish.
